Booking the Doug Lawrence Orchestra
How do I find out if the orchestra is available for
my event?
Because our engagements are updated on a daily basis,
we do not publish a performance calendar. Please contact
us at 888-905-MUSIC or go to our contact page and tell us
your name, phone number, email address and date of your
event. We will let you know if we are available.
Can you mail me an info pack and CD?
We are happy to send you a promo kit that includes a CD,
song lists, press clippings, testimonials and photos. You
can call us at 888-905-MUSIC or go to our contact page and
email us your name, phone number, address, event date and
description of your event.
Can I meet you in person?
Most certainly! We encourage a personal consultation that
will let you effectively discuss all pertinent issues and
requirements for your events musical entertainment. You
can schedule an appointment by calling 888-905-MUSIC.
Can I see the orchestra live to help me decide whether
to book you?
On certain occasions, where it has been cleared with our
client, you may check out our band live. Most of our client's,
however, request that we do not invite prospective clients to
their private parties. If there is no opportunity to check
the orchestra out live, we believe you can make an informed
decision by checking out our website, info package and
references.
Do you perform wedding ceremony music?
Yes we do. We offer solo piano, solo guitar or solo harp. We
also offer a flute/piano duo and a string quartet. We can
also customize ceremony music to include up to a 10-piece
orchestra.
When must I commit to booking the orchestra?
The majority of our clients book the orchestra 6 to 12 months
in advance. We do accommodate last minute bookings when
possible. The only way to find out is to ask. Contact us at

How much do you charge?
We customize our orchestra packages to meet your budget. Our
prices are extremely competitive!
What forms of payment do you accept?
You can pay for the orchestra with cash, personal check or corporate check, money order or cashier's check.
When is payment due?
The initial deposit of 50% of the total price is due within 10
days of the verbal commitment to book The Doug Lawrence Orchestra.
The balance is due one week (7 days) before your event.
About The Music
What types of music do you play?
The Doug Lawrence Orchestra has a very diverse and prolific
repertoire. We play styles that include contemporary pop, big
band, rock, swing, Latin, standards, Motown, ethnic dances and
much more (see our song list page).
Do you play songs not on your song list?
Our song list (see song list page) represents only a partial list
of our complete repertoire, so we may already know the song(s) you
want. If we don't know them, we will learn them
Do you play ethnic music?
We have numerous ethnic songs in our repertoire, including Jewish,
Irish, Italian and Polish. We can also learn special music for your
event.
Do you play special requests made during your performance?
Yes, we make every effort to play requests made by you or your guests
during our performance, as long as it fits in appropriately with your
event.
Who are the musicians in the Doug Lawrence Orchestra?
Our musicians are acknowledged "top-shelf" professionals. They have
played with the greatest artists of our time and have appeared on
over 10 Grammy winning recordings collectively. Doug Lawrence
"hand-picks" each individual musician to insure only the best quality
musician takes the stage with The Doug Lawrence Orchestra.
What are the various configurations of the Doug Lawrence Orchestra?
Our 16-piece "ultra chic" big band is our premium configuration and
offers a male & female vocalist along with 14 instrumentalists.
This band is perfect for large and high profile events. It has been
called a "Sumptuous Big Band" by the Chicago Sun-Times and "1st Rate"
by the New York Times. Our 7 to 9 piece variety band is our base group
that gives you female & male vocalists, 1 to 3 horns and a 4-piece
rhythm section. This is our most popular configuration and most affordable.
It is perfect for any event (especially weddings) where you want a packed
dance floor all night. This band features the chart busting dance hits of
the past and present. We also offer smaller ensembles to fit your specific
needs (see music page).
